Devin pricing explained
Devin sells self-serve plans with a usage allowance, then prepaid on-demand credits for anything past it. The Teams plan adds seat types and a monthly minimum that confuse people. This guide follows Devin's self-serve plans documentation. Prices are in USD as the documentation lists them, and the page itself says to use Devin's pricing page for authoritative figures. We have not used Devin.
The four plans
| Plan | Price | Members | What the documentation says |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | Free | 1 | Limited Devin usage, plus Devin Review and DeepWiki. |
| Pro | $20 a month | 1 | Daily and weekly usage quota across Devin sessions, Devin CLI and Devin Desktop, on-demand credits past it, and Slack, Linear and MCP integrations. |
| Max | $200 a month | 1 | Everything in Pro with a much larger weekly quota and no daily cap. |
| Teams | $80 a month minimum | Unlimited | Seats plus shared on-demand credits, explained below. |
Pro and Max are individual plans and cannot be shared. Anyone wanting several people on one subscription needs Teams.
How Teams charges
Devin says every Teams member holds a full seat or a flex seat.
- Full seat: $40 a month. Includes a Pro-equivalent daily and weekly quota and Devin Desktop access.
- Flex seat: free, unlimited. No fixed charge and no Desktop access. Usage comes entirely out of the team's shared on-demand credits.
The $80 minimum can be met in any mix of full seats and credits. Devin's own table:
| Full seats | On-demand credits included | Monthly total |
|---|---|---|
| 0 | $80 | $80 |
| 1 | $40 | $80 |
| 2 | $0 | $80 |
| 3 | $0 | $120 |
| N, 2 or more | $0 | N x $40 |
So $80 is the floor for the subscription, not a price per person. The shortfall below two full seats is charged as prepaid credits that the whole team can use.
Quotas and on-demand credits
- Pro and Teams full seats have daily and weekly allowances. Max has a weekly allowance only. Allowances refresh on a calendar basis.
- Past the allowance, on-demand credits keep work going. Devin says purchased credits roll over and never expire, can be topped up or auto-reloaded, and admins can set auto-reload thresholds and default session spending limits.
- On Teams, credits are one shared pool with no per-member balance. They fund flex-seat usage, full-seat usage past its quota, and any unmet part of the $80 minimum.
- Devin says Automations and Devin Review on Teams draw from shared credits, not seat quota. If credits run out, Automations stop and Devin Review falls back to a smart diff viewer. Reviewing public GitHub pull requests at devinreview.com is free and needs no account, according to the page.
- Devin says legacy ACU-based plans map to on-demand credits of the same dollar value, and legacy Core users moved to Free.
What to check before you buy
- How much of the quota your normal week uses. The documentation does not give a numeric quota, so test on Free or Pro first.
- Whether anyone on a team needs only occasional access, which suits flex seats, or daily access, which suits full seats.
- Your spending limits and auto-reload settings, so credits cannot run on unchecked.
- Whether Automations or auto-review are on, since they use credits, and which trigger mode they use.
